July 29th , 2007 -- Site Downtime

Well, as some of you know, lately the site has been sluggish at times. After complaining to my host, yesterday they moved me to a new and improved server with more horsepower. That move went fine. However, the supervisor then came in and decided we were worthy of the newest hardware they have so moved us to yet another server. Our brand spanking new web host was having some DNS issues over the last 2 days which may have prohibited folks from reaching CBW. We apologize if you weren't able to reach us, but it looks like it is fixed now.

May 11th, 2007 -- Microgaming List revamp plus other topics

As part of our site revamp we just completely updated the Microgaming List with all current information on all the bonuses and wagering requirements. This was quite a job, but it yielded a few nice finds such as the new Betway bonus and others. We also moved the site to a new host (Dreamhost, who rock BTW) so we will be adding a bunch of cool things soon, such as a new message board, and possibly a searchable casino database along with a Wiki that everyone can contribute to. We also cried as we removed Planetluck and Starluck from the site, since they have served so many people so well over the years. The Easy Grand hasn't been updated yet, but will be revamped soon along with the rest of the site.

November 9th, 2006 -- Golden Palace group says no US, Main Street Group says yes along with new software.

The Golden Palace group of casinos has decided to stop taking wagers from US residents, mainly due to the fact that they are on Playtech software which is also ceasing US action. Main Street group (Vegas Casino Online) fixed this issue by moving to the RTG software platform instead. We will be updating our review as soon as we can.

November 5th, 2006 -- Beta Testing Translations of CBW

November 1st, 2006 -- Intercasino and VIP Casino Bonus Terms changed

Intercasino has changed their bonus terms to 30XB from 25XB, which drops the EV $2. They have also made it impossible to cash out your $100 deposit each month until after the WR has been met. This means no more playing Intercasino risk free if you have been. Since we don't recommend playing it this way anyhow hopefully this won't effect any of you. VIP Casino on the other hand, we were recommending risk free play on since it doesn't have a monthly. This means we will be updating our review of that site to be a traditional grind casino instead of the larger bets we suggested in our original review.

October 15th, 2006 -- US/Non US Details added

By popular request, we have added a new column to The List, The Advanced List, and This Month's Reloads called USA OK? This is shocking enough a column that tells you if USA players are allowed to do that bonus. "Some" usually means you are in one of 11 states (Michigan, Illinois, Louisiana, Oregon, Washington, Wisconsin, Indiana, Nevada, South Dakota, New Jersey, New York) that are prohibited. The other 39 are OK to play. We are still feeling out what to do about the Easy Grand Program since if we exclude all the non US casinos, it won't be so easy any more LOL. More to come.

Well, we have done it again here at CBW with the CBW Twofer III in The Advanced List. This one is a bit more "Advanced" than the previous ones, so only experienced whores try this one out. We updated a bunch of reviews today to reflect the US legislation, correct changed bonuses, and generally update things. We made changes to Bet365, InterCasino, Littlewoods, Sands, VIP Casino, William Hill, CasinoEuro, Maharajah Club, and The List. Unfortunately, I think I will be changing a bunch more in the future days. :(

October 3rd, 2006 -- CBW Twofer II full review posted

Well, we have done it again here at CBW with the CBW Twofer II in The Advanced List. Expect an active month for whoring with more on the way. I also wanted to comment on the US legislation recently passed. Many have given their interpretations of the new law and several of the big publicly traded corporations have already made some pretty drastic decisions by cutting off all US players. Others are adopting a wait and see approach. I personally think everything that is going to happen in the short term will happen in the next week or so, and then things will settle down until close to the 270 day period approaches. In an obvious response to the litigation passed last week, Intercasino has stopped giving bonuses out to US players. Why they didn't just outright ban them from playing I am not sure. In any case, this is a blow to whores everywhere, and just after I discovered their no-download casino.

September 25th, 2006 -- Casino Blasters cracks down on currency exploitation, plus housekeeping.

The Casino Blasters Group (Golden Palace, Online Casino, Aspinalls, 24 Kt Gold, Flamingo Clib, and Grand Online) just recently started locking accounts of those who sign up in a non-native currency. We recommend you sign up in your native currency (or USD) at this time. This makes the easy Grand not quite a grand so we will be revamping that more thoroughly soon. August 18th , 2006 -- Mansion Bonus changed again

Well, they changed the bonus again which meant we had to update our review again. Now the game is Baccarat and the EV is lower than it was before, but it is still positive. I would hit this one fast if you haven't already because if they change it once more, it will be -EV for sure. Make sure to hit their free sports bet for tomorrow if you haven't already.

August 17th , 2006 -- CasinoEuro sign up bonus not available to US or Chinese players, correction to Nine Bonus

Someone just told me that CasinoEuro has changed their T&Cs to disallow US and Chinese players from receiving the welcome bonus. It appears that the Monthly bonus is unaffected. We added a disclaimer to our review stating this. It also appears that Nine.com doesn't allow VP for its sign up bonus, even though the external page still says VP except Deuces Wild is allowed. Once you log into your account, there is a different page that says it isn't allowed and that seems to be the one they are going by.

August 12th , 2006 -- Intercasino changing how to claim monthly bonus

I got an email today from Intercasino saying that starting with September's monthly match bonus, you will have to enter a bonus code that will be posted on their web site to claim the bonus each month. So keep your eyes on your email and make sure to not just autodeposit on the 1st like some of you normally do for the monthly.

August 9th , 2006 -- CBW Effect - Sites tighten up, Mansion Bonus Updated, Nine Bonus Updated

Roxy Palace changed their bonus again, most likely in response to our new strategy. I am sure they will be happy to hear that it is no longer profitable using any of their allowable games so we have removed them from The List. 32 Vegas has changed their bonus to a 3 tiered bonus where really only the third bonus is worth anything. We have updated our review to reflect the changes in the bonus. We also found a nice new way to take advantage of the revised Mansion bonus which is good news and have updated our review to reflect it. Finally as we warned back on June 7th in our Blog, Nine.com has revised their bonus and made BJ no longer allowable. Cue up "Another one bites the dust". Where there is a will, there is a way, and we have revised our review to include a higher variance, but still EV video poker clearing of their bonus.

July 20th , 2006 -- CBW Effect - Roxy Palace changes Bonus terms

Roxy Palace changed their terms today to disallow Casino War. We have updated our review to use 3 card poker, which actually has a lower house edge and therefore higher EV, but higher variance so greater risk of busting.

July 19th , 2006 -- CBW Effect - Mansion Casino Kills Bonus

Mansion has adjusted their bonus to effectively kill it using autoplay of casino war. They did increase the amount of it and it is still profitable using Video Poker play, but due to the high WR and manual method of clearing, at this time we don't recommend it. At least we got 20 days out of it. I hope you all made a bundle.

July 14th , 2006 -- Betsson monthly back, possibly initial bonus eliminated?

I am really not sure what is going on at Betsson, but I just got notice that I could claim my 30 euro monthly match and it is showing up in the cashier under available bonuses, so it appears it has returned. I just got an email from them last night that there is not any current sign up bonus though. I have a feeling that they are going to make the sign up like Cherry and CasinoEuro . Therefore I removed Betsson from The List, but added it to This Month's Reloads until they change it again.

About time they did this, this makes Intercasino, William Hill, Omni Casino, and VIP Casino much easier to do since you don't have to wait for the PIN via snail mail. July 4th , 2006 -- 32 Vegas review reinstated with 3 Card Poker

Where there's a will, there is a way. The math works on 3 Card Poker at 32 Vegas so we changed our review to use that instead. We had originally changed it to Pai Gow, but 3 Card Poker is even better. Game on!

Well, the CBW effect has happened again and they removed Casino War from their list of allowable games. I think in the 36 hours since I posted the review, the casino lost $6K or so. June 22nd , 2006 -- Twin Vegas and Vegas Casino Online change terms AGAIN

Well, I just happened to check Twin Aces and Vegas Casino Online and they have made their bonus even worse (I wonder if they are reading this site LOL). It makes more sense to do this one in $$ than pounds now. At first glance it looks like it is 10XD to get awarded the bonus whether you are playing in pounds or dollars (or euros). However, now if you are playing in dollars you have to wager 35(B+D)=$7875 more before you can withdraw. If you are playing in pounds, you have to wager a huge 50X(B+D)=£11,250 to be able to withdraw the bonus, and then pay a 5% fee on top of that. Soooo, EV of $$ bonus is $125-($8875*.005)=$80 and the ££ bonus is 0.95*[£225-(£12250*.005)]-125=£30 or $56, and the €€ would be 0.95*[€225-(€8875*.005)]-€125=€46 or $58. Whew. It looks like the $$ is the better one to do now, but I am gonna give it a day or two to make sure they don't change it again before I update my permanent reviews. If you have experienced the new bonus first hand, please email us or post in the forum with your details so I can update the reviews.

June 21st , 2006 -- Twin Vegas and Vegas Casino Online change terms

Another change I noticed today to Twin Aces and Vegas Casino Online. They adjusted the WR of their bonus to 40X(B+D) for wagers in pounds. According to the CSR I talked to, this means you now have to wager £1000 to get the bonus, then another £8000 to withdraw it. If anyone has experienced this new bonus first hand, please email us or post in the forum with your details so I can update the reviews. It still appears to have an EV of £80 so is still a decent one to do.

June 20th , 2006 -- Sun Vegas Casino War bonus killed, Betsson changes terms

One thing is for sure in the bonus whoring world: things are always changing. Sun Vegas must have lost enough by smart whores playing casino war that they changed their bonus terms to make it unprofitable. I hope you all hit it while it was available. Betsson recently changed their sign up bonus as well from 50% to €50, to 30% to €30. The good news is they made the 30% a monthly just like Cherry and CasinoEuro, its sister sites. If I had to guess, I would bet they will change the sign up bonus soon to match the other sites, i.e. €111 on €222 deposit. If you haven't done Betsson yet, I would wait until after July 1st just in case they decide to change it.

One thing that I found hard when I started hunting the casino bonuses was which ones were worth my time. I mean, sure there might be a $1,000 EV bonus out there, but if you have to play $100,000 worth of wagers, is it really worth it? If you are like me, you have a limited amount of time to devote to making extra income via bonuses and you want to spend your time wisely. To help with this problem, we developed the CBW Time Index™. It is computed by taking the EV (Expected Value) of the bonus and dividing it by the WR (Wagering Requirement) and multiplying it by 500. This lets us compare competing bonuses--apples to apples. The one with the highest TI is the best use of your time. Another way to look at this figure is it would be your hourly rate if you place 500 bets per hour at $1 a bet clearing the bonus. If you wish to play higher than $1 per hand, then just multiply out TI by the bet amount per hand to come up with your new hourly rate!
